For an adrenaline inducing sailing trip, look no further
Sailing is the ultimate hands on experience. Once you take the helm and the adrenaline kicks in, everything else moves to the back of your mind. Edmiston has three yachts to make things move that bit quicker.
The three yachts embrace every style: classic, classic-contemporary and contemporary. 55 metre Adela, built in 1903, rebuilt in 1995, and the best of her class on the market. 47 metre Hyperion, 1998, one of the most successful big sloop racers of the last two decades. Perini Navi’s E-volution 47 metre state-of-the-art fast cruising sloop for launch in 2020.
Adela
This beautifully proportioned schooner was originally built as a pre J-Class gentleman’s racing yacht. In 1995, after decades of decline, she was bought by a classic sailing fanatic and sent to Pendennis for a total rebuild.
Gerard Dijkstra, the doyen of classic design, recreated the original vision and ever since there has been a succession of refits in a rolling programme of meticulous enhancement.
Today’s Adela has an extended steel hull, carbon fibre rigging, a new generator (2019) and new decks, while retaining the period features and even the original antique panelling in her four cabins.
Over €10million has been spent since 2015, replacing, upgrading, remodelling and enhancing everything to make this big powerful schooner into a yacht that is supremely comfortable and highly competitive at regattas.
Adela is well priced for a yacht of her size and impeccable condition.

Hyperion
Custom built in Holland at Royal Huisman, Hyperion is an extremely powerful sloop that has been consistently competitive at regattas, including the 2019 St Barths Bucket.
With a 47 metre aluminium hull and 59 metre carbon rig (still one of the tallest in the world), she has been maintained regardless of cost as a personal race-cruiser.
Classic mahogany panelling, traditional furniture pieces and fine silk fabrics create a calm and elegant atmosphere. Six guests on a yacht of 47 metres means a spacious lifestyle for everyone both inside and on the broad beam deck.
Hyperion is a ‘hall of fame’ yacht. Ownership immediately brings the respect of your peers and rivals alike. Hands-on or directing the crew, she is the best of her type on the market.

Perini E-Volution 47
Designed by Reichel Pugh, due for launch in 2020, the 47 metre sloop looks dramatic and adapts the studio’s racing principles for fast cruising.
The yacht has 142 square metres of entertaining space, 200 square metres of interior space and an 11 metre aft deck terrace that is 10 metres wide. And that 10 metres very significantly, is retained along the longest possible extent of the hull, creating a superbly spacious interior lit by frameless windows in the entire salon.
A forward tender locker creates space for an aft deck beach club. Wide steps hydraulically extend to create a sea level platform. From flybridge to water’s edge, there are four entirely separate outside entertaining areas.
Performance should be swift and sharp: a 60 metre advanced aluminium mast, a sail plan of over 2,300 square metres and fly-by-wire controls. In motor mode, hybrid power combines a small diesel engine with an electric motor for silent cruising.
To all of the above, factor in Perini style and this yacht sounds extremely interesting.
