The ultimate explorer, La Datcha makes her debut
Damen launched the fully custom 77m SeaXplorer, La Datcha, at the Amels Vlissingen-based yard this week. Keen to show off her magnificence, this leading expedition yacht that is fully-loaded with all kinds of adventure-worthy exploration equipment, will take centre-stage at a three day private event hosted by Damen this September.
The Launch
The 7th July 2020 was a monumental day for Damen Yachting. After two years in build, the highly-anticipated, and largest SeaXplorer to date, rolled out of the construction shed at Damen’s flagship before floating out on the water for a world-first preview.
The yacht has now moved to Damen Yachting's City facility for her final outfitting and where she will be on display at the shipyards Private View event in September.
The customised explorer passed its keel laying milestone in July 2018 and is due for delivery in September 2020.
The Event
Damen Yachting will host a three-day event for clients at its yard in the south of the Netherlands from 17-19 September. At the “Amels and Damen Yachting Private View 2020”, the yard expects to showcase around 10 yachts from their portfolio of Amels superyachts, SeaXplorers and Yacht Supports. Headlining is LA DATCHA, the brand new 77-metre SeaXplorer luxury expedition yacht which still has charter availability for her busy 2021 worldwide itinerary.
The team at Damen Yachting developed the event so clients can tour a range of yachts without the safety concerns that have resulted in the cancellation of boatshows including this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

And by hosting them at our yard, we can ensure maximum comfort, safety and privacy with a very limited number of VIP guests invited." The Yacht
La Datcha is more than a yacht – she is an entire expedition force. The 77 metre Damen SeaXplorer will embark on a circumnavigation visiting the world’s most exciting and off-grid locations.
A rare breed indeed, not only has she been built to withstand the harshest of environments and reach the most remote of destinations in utmost safety, but she does so whilst offering her guests the highest levels of luxury.
With an ice-classed steel hull, this six-deck yacht may look every inch the Caribbean showstopper, but she is so much more: an Ice Class yacht, she has 40 days of full autonomy, making her cruising ground limitless.
For charter in the Mediterranean this October, La Datcha will then sail to the Indian Ocean for the Winter, before cruising to Kamchatka in Russia next Spring. Please contact us for further details.
