The unique Sunrays, true yacht perfection

86 metre Sunrays was built at Oceanco. She is unquestionably one of the most distinctive yachts in the world, with flowing lines and that elegantly extrovert teal blue hull.

Buying and owning a yacht of over 80 metres will always be a matter of the heart ruling the head. Sunrays has so many features, she brilliantly ticks both boxes. Superb design, compelling business logic.

With six decks and almost 2,900 gross tons of internal volume, Sunrays has an immense amount of space that works well for all of the guests rather than just the Owner. Everything is generously proportioned – wide side decks and stairways and big open spaces for sports and entertaining.

Nine suites include an upper deck master that is like a huge private apartment. The main bedroom has a sunbathing terrace with a Jacuzzi, a VIP suite with a balcony and an additional space that can be a third cabin, study or a TV lounge, which opens out onto yet another balcony. Very few yachts at any size have a more flexible or impressive Owner’s deck.

Sunrays sleeps 18 guests plus an additional four in Pullman berths for a total of 22 guests.

"What makes Sunrays such good deal is the value driven by her condition"

A huge second VIP suite is on the main deck along with two double and two twin cabins. Yet another VIP suite is on the lower deck with a private sea-level balcony.

Secret panels enable many of the rooms to be interconnecting, creating huge entertaining spaces or more intimate lounges. Sunrays has all of the usual requirements of a yacht of this size. An inside-outside gym, extensive beach club, large Jacuzzi pools on both the sun deck and main deck, both with extensive terraces and sunbeds. There is a golf tee, wellness and beauty spa, hammam, sauna and a f leet of custom painted spor ts equipment. Large tenders are augmented by a 16 metre Windy support boat. The helipad is a storage and refuelling deck suitable for the customised EC145 – available as a separate deal.

Terence Disdale’s interior design style softens the enormous entertaining lounges, that are decorated in a blend of mid-tones with an ethnic Asian influence.

The yacht has been maintained to a standard not a budget. Every winter, a rolling programme of works has kept the yacht in pristine condition. In 2018 it was a complete overhaul and re-equipping of the gym and the creation of a new skybar.

Sunrays operates with 26 crew but has a team of 38 involved in the overall running and maintenance programme. The build captain remains in place and knows every cubic centimetre of his pride and joy.

If charter is the ultimate barometer of value, Sunrays has a ringing endorsement. One of the first yachts to break the €1 million per week threshold.
