4 year industry high for sales
With a 41% market share of sales over 50m and some seriously impressive new additions to our fleet, Edmiston’s sales activity is stronger than ever
We are now a third of the way through the year and the brokerage market continues to perform well, with many sales at Edmiston and some impressive new CAs joining the fleet.
The news is good across the industry, with 80 yachts over 30m so far sold between February and April this year at a value of €900m – a four-year industry high for this period. With brokerage sales in 2019 particularly strong, it’s a clear indicator of just how well the industry is faring since the initial impact of the pandemic.
At Edmiston, we have sold 16 yachts since the start of the year, with a total value of €260m and an average length of 45m. Of the 17 yachts sold across the industry since January over 50m, Edmiston has been involved in seven of the sales, giving us a 41% market share.
The largest and highest value brokerage sale of the year was that of 72m Tankoa-built yacht SOLO. A 2018 Francesco Paszkowski-designed masterpiece in excellent condition that offers the perfect combination of performance and luxury.
Another achievement for Edmiston was selling our second 60m Benetti of the year ANDIAMO, after selling ANDREAS L in January. Our fastest selling yacht so far this year in the over 40m category was 4YOU (now REVELRY), which sold in just 51 days.
We were also delighted to be involved in the sale of the 43m Feadship FULL MOON, fresh from her 2020 refit. A yacht of rare distinction, FULL MOON is the only Feadship of any size to be built as a waist deck explorer vessel with easy tender launch and recovery. The 33m Riva yacht PANACEA was another success for Edmiston, with the bullet-like planing yacht selling in March.
Among our new CAs for 2021 are an exclusive 80m+ motor yacht, due to be revealed in the coming days, and the 57m Feadship HALO, which has just completed a multi-million Euro refit. Once again, this all goes to prove that at Edmiston we don’t just list yachts, we sell them.
