HAIL TO HALO!
On 22nd August, the proud and delighted Edmiston team witnessed the gentle splash as the latest new Feadship 57m HALO, was launched into the lake in front of the Royal van Lent shipyard. Following the second splash of the traditional christening ceremony, a celebration lunch was enjoyed by the Owner’s party, project team, yacht crew and shipyard staff.
Since the sale of this new build concept by Edmiston broker, Antonio Yturbe, in late 2012, Edmiston Yacht Management (EYM) has acted as Owner’s Representative throughout all stages of the project. The New Build Division has provided turnkey project management from initial development of the specification to on-site construction supervision, and is now managing final deliveries of equipment for the yacht, commissioning and preparations for sea trials.
EYM has also supervised the custom design and construction of sleek twin D-RIBs from Compass Tenders, to enable the Owner’s family and friends to enjoy an exhilarating range of water sports.
Following delivery of the yacht in mid-October, EYM will continue to provide operational management, as HALO embarks on the first stages of an exciting cruise itinerary.
The HALO project continues the series of successful project partnerships EYM has developed with the Feadship shipyards, and follows the deliveries of 78m TANGO in 2011, 78m HAMPSHIRE in 2012 and 99m MADAME GU in 2013.
While each new build project has been unique, EYM has always worked in close collaboration with the shipyard and a series of leading yacht designers to deliver each dream yacht to its Owner. For HALO, the exterior design by Eidsgaard includes distinctive high silver metallic arches over the Sun Deck. Interior design by Bernardi Peschard features rich dark and light timbers, custom-made Italian furniture, and exciting splashes of vibrantly coloured soft furnishings.
