Western Mediterranean

The stretch of coast from Monte Carlo to St Tropez is the epicenter of yachting. Like nowhere else in the world, the harbours or billion dollar berths as they have become, are full of the most spectacular yachts with guests simply focused on fun.

Lobster ravioli, baby squid, bouillabaisse – La Mère Germaine, Villefranche. The tasting menu at Alain Ducasse’s three star Michelin gastronomic temple – Le Louis XV á l'Hotel de Paris, Monaco.  One of the world’s greatest restaurants. Eat with an epic panoramic view of the Med. Chèvre d’Or in Eze (ask for table 9).  The best bouillabaisse on the Cote d’Azur: Tetou in Golfe-Juan. Fresh fish cooked with beautiful simplicity at Le Mesclun in Cannes. Proof that all great things are simple.

A beach club for every in-crowd: Nikki Beach, Club 55, Tahiti and Nioulargo all along Pampelonne Bay. Thalassotherapy spa treatments at the Thermes Marins  Monte-Carlo. Picasso on the Côte – the seafront castle gallery, Antibes. Amazing and colourful frescos by Jean Cocteau in the Chapelle Saint Pierre des Pêcheurs, Villefranche. A romantic stroll through the rose garden of Belle Époque Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Cap Ferrat.

Two locations define cruising in Italy: the northern harbours of Portofino, La Spezia, the five villages of Cinque Terre and the Island of Elba; the Neapolitan Amalfi Coast Including Capri. Here are places that combine ancient and modern culture better than anywhere else in the world and is the place to take advantage of your yacht’s scuba diving equipment. Swim through black and coloured corals, rainbows of fish and even wrecked ancient Greek and Roman ships.

French Riviera

Each part of the coast has it’s own distinctive appeal and probably that is what makes this Riviera the most exclusive 100 kilometres in the Mediterranean.

Cap d’Antibes and Villefranche, Cap Ferrat and Monte Carlo, each and every bay, town and harbour is beautiful and gives you the opportunity to drop anchor, set out the sports equipment, get ready for breakfast, lunch or dinner and relax in a way that only the Cote d’Azur intended.

Corsica’s Calvi to Bonifacio is undoubtedly one of the world’s most spectacular itineraries. Historic towns with outstanding bars and restaurants, bric-a-brac shopping, local markets, galleries and places to mingle with the locals. Cruise for just half an hour and you are in the most beautiful palm-fringed bay with pale soft sand and lush vegetation. On the west coast, Calvi to Bonifacio is a sensational cruise, towns linked by wide bays, sandy inlets and rocky outlets all of which are perfect for snorkelling, sunbathing, sailing or setting out your own private beach club.

Sardinia

Sardinia’s Porto Cervo, Cala di Volpe and Porto Rotondo are where some of the most impressive yachts sojourn for the summer. They could go anywhere; they come here – it must be a hint. Head south to Sardinia’s Maddalena archipelago.

Scattered islands of rocky cliffs, secluded coves and wind-swept beaches – everything here is impossibly perfect. Continue on to Marina di Portisco on the glamorous Costa Smeralda to take in Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo and Cala di Volpe – this is where chic is an understatement.

Spain

With 8,000km of coastline, speckled with endless sun-baked beaches that lazily stretch out to vibrant blue seas, plus exciting cities to get your culture fix, Spain is one of the most popular destinations for a yacht charter.

From the mountains and ravines of the Pyrenees to the vineyards and olive groves of Andalusia, and the tiny villages that seem to cling to the hillsides wherever you go, as you’ll discover on a yacht charter in Spain, its landscapes are more varied than one might imagine.

Balearics

Known for their party reputation, the sun-drenched islands of the Balearics, which lie off the east coast of Spain in the Western Med, have plenty more sides to them that you’ll discover on a luxury yacht charter in the Balearic Islands.

Who hasn’t dreamed of lying on the sun deck of their luxury yacht in Ibiza – the perfect way to recover from a night on the town – but there are lots of quiet, less-developed parts of the islands to enjoy and discover, too.
