Looking for some well-deserved winter sun? These places are sure to deliver just that

Escape cold winter weather on a sunshine charter this season, from the lure of the Caribbean to the beautiful Indian Ocean or the world’s aquarium of the Sea of Cortez to the exoticism of the Red Sea

Whether you’re looking for a stunning location to celebrate Christmas aboard your own yacht, wish to ring in the new year in a tropical paradise, or simply chase the sun this winter, we have the perfect winter charter for you.

Winter charters in the Caribbean & Bahamas

Caribbean yacht charters are perpetual favourites for winter sun: turquoise waters that glimmer beneath the all-day sun, fresh seafood cooked in the open-air, spirited music and cultures throughout its myriad isles, and plenty of deserted isles for a private escape, too.

PHOENIX 2, a decadent and fun superyacht with three pools, is available for charter in the Caribbean this Christmas, ideal for anyone wanting to experience the exuberant atmosphere of the Junkanoo carnival.

LADY S, the 93m Feadship with the first ever yacht IMAX Dolby cinema – how’s that for a movie night under the stars? – and a large glass-bottomed pool is also available in the Caribbean and the Bahamas this winter.

High-performance sailing yacht CROSSBOW has availability in the Caribbean this winter and is a sophisticated yacht with panoramic views from its deck salon, plus on-deck sunbathing.

Another Feadship with availability in the Caribbean and Bahamas this winter is ARROW, whose full-beam beach club serves as a watersports play area by day, and a cool chill-out lounge by night.

The 48m SILVER FOX is great for guests who want to make the most of the yacht's outdoor spaces while cruising the Caribbean waters, with luxurious lounging areas offering panoramic sea views, and actively encouraging fun in the sun.

For something a bit more modest, the 45.95m CMB Yachts MYSTIC yacht has a sun deck Jacuzzi and lots of toys, including Seabobs and a water slide.

Meanwhile, it’s hard to believe that the Admiral-built yacht SAFE HAVEN is just 37.49m as her amenities belie her size, with a cinema on the bow, a Jacuzzi, and a beach club, plus two full-beam masters and a full-beam VIP cabin.

For a Caribbean sailing charter this winter, AQUIJO is luxuriously appointed, with an incredible 24-seater dining table beneath a retractable skylight for inside/out dining, funky interiors and three outdoor bars for those warm, Caribbean nights.

The 56m Perini Navi yacht ROSEHEARTY is also well geared for charters in the Caribbean and Bahamas, with a packed toy box, swim platform for easy access and a 37ft Hinckley Picnic Tender for nipping between the islands.

Finally, SHAMANNA yacht is a good base for those who want to take a relaxing tour of one of the isles by kayak or stand-up paddleboard or jump in her brand-new 38ft Wajer chase tender to access hard-to-get-to coves.

Winter charters in the Indian Ocean

For a taste of the Tropics, a winter charter in the Indian Ocean is idyllic. Many of the emerald isles and cays in the region are unexplored and the area has some of the best diving and sports fishing in the world, not to mention some of its most luxurious resorts.

SUNRAYS, the 85.50m Oceanco yacht, has availability for Christmas and New Year in the Maldives, and with an RYA approved watersports centre, plus three Jacuzzis, there’s plenty of opportunity for soaking up those winter rays. Plus, the music deck is a winner for all those festive parties.

Following her extensive rebuild in 2020, BLEU DE NÎMES also has Christmas and New Year availability in the Maldives or Seychelles and can accommodate a massive 28 people on board and comes with a touch-and-go helipad for getting everyone there easily.

Winter charters in the Red Sea

For a real uncharted feel, the Red Sea is still relatively untouched and hugs a coastline that moves from stark wilderness to skyscraper cities, peppered with cultural attractions that are rich in symbolism.

The 35m Benetti DXB has availability in Dubai for Christmas and New Year and has a good use of deck space for those wishing to top up their tan, including a sit-up bar and a Jacuzzi.

Winter charters in the Sea of Cortez

Jacques Cousteau labelled it the ‘world’s aquarium’ for its incredible marine life, including blue whales, sharks, and marlin, so if you are looking for a diving charter this winter, the Sea of Cortez could be for you.

Of course, its ancient ruins from both the Mayan and Aztec eras are also a sublime backdrop, making Mexico one of the most underrated cruising grounds on the planet.

AZECTA II, an elegant yacht from Nereids Yachts, has Christmas availability in the Sea of Cortez and has lots of deck space, which includes an on-deck Jacuzzi with panoramic views and lots of fun water toys.

The 30.48m Azimut SUPER has availability in the Sea of Cortez this winter and comes with an incredibly knowledgeable captain, who can take you to the best whale-watching spots (the best time to see them is January to March), which you can view from the comfort of the sunpads on the bow.
